What’s New?

After years of the Rossignol Temptation series being top-sellers and having excellent reviews was causing them to gain widespread popularity. For the 2019 models, Rossignol made some nice upgrades. Now the Temptation has been the Rossignol Experience W series to keep it consistent with the men’s series. With five skis in the collection there is a ski for everyone. When Rossignol revealed the new Experience W Series we were very excited to get them on snow for the first time and they lived up to all expectations at our annual ski test.

New Shape

One of the most noticeable changes in the The Experience W Series features an entirely new shape that is more all mountain friendly. Previously the Temptation Series had the Extended Sidecut which made for very easy carving, but some skiers felt that shape caused the ski to feel a little hooky or grabby in conditions like bumps, powder and cruddy snow. Now more taper in the tip and tail allow for an easier time when skiing more difficult conditions without losing any of that excellent carving ability. This new shape allows the ski to have a more playful feeling for drifting or smearing turns if you want to.

What is Line Control Technology?

One of the biggest technologies that has been used to improve the 2019 Experience W Line is the LCT or Line Control Technology. Line Control Technology comes straight from Rossignol’s World Cup Race Skis. This can be found in three models, namely the Experience 88 Ti W, Experience 84 Ai W and Experience 80 Ci W. LCT uses a strip of Titanal (Experience 88 Ti W), a ABS material (Experience 84 AI W), or Carbon (Experience 80 CI W) that runs from the tip to the tail that is sandwiched between the strips of wood in the core. LCT eliminates the counterflexing of the ski, especially when you’re ramping up the speed. This gives you a smoother feeling on the snow and a more consistent edge contact resulting in a ski that is easier to control.

2019 Rossignol Experience 84 Ai W

New Rocker Profile

The new All-Terrain Rocker Profile from Rossignol uses a little less rocker in the tip and tail. This new profile maintains an easy-to-ski feeling without any compromise to the edge grip, responsiveness or rebound.

New Tip Profile

Rossignol’s new Air Tip VAS uses some of the same principles that can be found in the more free-ride friendly Women’s 7 Series. The Air Tip VAS has dampening filters inside the tip that reduce vibrations when the tip wants to chatter. This delivers a more efficient power transfer and more contact with the snow for easier control.

Who is the Experience W for?

With five skis in the series there is a Rossignol Experience W for everyone. While considered an all-mountain ski, this series of skis is more at home spending the majority of their time on the frontside of the mountain.

2019 Rossignol Experience 88 Ti W

Experience 88 Ti W is a great option for the strong intermediate to expert skier who will spend most of their time on the groomers or head off piste when the snow conditions are favorable to ski. This is the only ski in the line that has the LCT (Line Control Technology) made from Titanal. The 88mm waist can hold its own when you want to get a taste of some fresh powder or bounce through the bumps.

2019 Rossignol Experience 84 Ai W

Experience 84 Ai W has a slightly softer feel than the 88 making it designed for the intermediate to advanced level skier. The Line Control Technology is made from ABS material that is a little lighter weight and a tad more forgiving. The Minicap Sidewalls improve torsional strength and grip firm snow. The core has Basalt added to it for extra strength while reducing the total weight of the ski.

2019 Rossignol Experience 80 Ci W

Experience 80 Ci W is a perfect ride for the mellow to solid intermediate skier. The addition of carbon to the core that reduces weight and adds the perfect amount of rebound and stability for skiers who are staying in total control on the blues. A Central Sidewall/Cap Construction uses a cap construction in the tip and tail for a forgiving and easy skidded turn, with a vertical sidewall underfoot for edge grip. The LCT on this ski is made from a Carbon Stringer.

2019 Rossignol Experience 76 Ci W

Experience 76 Ci W is designed for the athletic beginner to solid intermediate skier. This ski is an excellent choice for the tweener or teen who is ready for her first pair of adult skis. The Carbon/Poplar Core feels stable when you add some speed, and forgiving when you are still finding your edges. The Rossitop Cap Construction is easy to control and does not require much technique or skill to make the ski react when and how it should.

2019 Rossignol Experience 74 W

Experience 74 W makes a great option for the bare bones beginner to mellow intermediate skier. The Poplar Wood Core and Rossitop Cap Construction are very forgiving and easy for a new skier to control. This ski makes a great option for the occasional skier who has been in rentals and looking to make an investment in their own gear.
