The Volkl 100Eight is an excellent choice for the all-mountain skier looking to spend as much time as possible smearing and turning in the fresh powder. New this season to the 100Eight is the addition of 3D Glass. 3D Glass Technology uses vertically laminated glass behind the sidewall and horizontally wrapped glass above the sidewall improve the skis rebound, and agility with better edge hold and more torsional power. Volkl's 3D Ridge Technology has a thin construction over the sidewalls with a raised ridge in the center of the ski that lowers the total weight of the ski and the amount of energy it takes to make the ski turn when you want it to. Carbon Stringers and a Multi-Layer WoodCore keep the ski lightweight, yet loaded with power and stability for hard charging anywhere you will go on the mountain.

Hi my name is Adam and I was just skiing on the Volkl 100 Eight. I give this ski 5 out of 5 stars. With this rocker profile and waist width, it really makes a great ski for killing it in the powder, killing it in the bumps, getting into the...Read More

Q: Hi I'm very interested in this ski because of its versatility and its ability to perform well off trail and in the trees. My only concern is that the only size is 189 cm. Is this too much ski for my frame? I stand (5'11” 170lb athletic build). I'm an aggressive skier and I'd say my skill level is between advanced and expert.

A: Based on your weight and ability I would recommend the 181cm for you in the 100Eight. I would consider the 189cm too long for you.

Q: I am very interested in this ski. Seems like it could be a great one ski quiver. Not that I need just one ski LOL. I am just a tad worried about sizing. For comparision here are all my skis and sizes. Keep in mind that all these skis seem to fit me very well for the intended purposes. Michigan skiing at local hills: Kastle LX82 in 172 Kaslte FX84 in 176 Outwest skis: Nordica Enforcer 100 in 177 J Ski the Metal in 180 Atomic Backland 117 in 179 So my concern is I think I am in between sizes. I feel the 181 might be a tad long but the 173 is definitely going to be to short. I am 5'7? and weight 175 lbs. Let me know if you have any thoughts on sizing. Thanks, Chuck

Know the answer? Answer this question

A: Based on your weight and where you would intend on using the ski, I would recommend the 181cm. the rocker profile makes it ride much shorter than it measures. That is quite the quiver you have there.
