The Cochise 120 from Tecnica makes a great boot for the advanced to expert skier that has a tall instep, medium to narrow forefoot width, and a medium to narrow shaft of the leg. Tecnica's IFS (Intelligent Free Mountain System) gives you a high amount of rearward mobility, when you pull the tab located on back spine of the boot to unlock the upper cuff from the lower shell to allow you to hike or skin uphill easier. The 45mm Power Lock Strap can be loosened when it is time to move uphill with the flip of a switch, and keeps a firm wrap across your leg when moving downhill. The Cochise 120 has Tecnica's Ultra Fit Pro C.A.S. (Custom Adaptive Shape) that utilizes cork, which will allow a skilled bootfitter to easily dial the fit in for you by heating, grinding or punching the liner. Tecnica's Quick Instep Construction has a softer injected plastic placed over the instep of the foot that makes the Cochise 120 very easy to enter and exit. If you are a charging skier looking for a precise fit that you can hike and skin with, the Tecnica Cochise will make a great selection.

While I haven't tried out these yet, they're more comfortable out of the box than my Lange RS 110's ever were. They're relatively light, easy enough to get into, and the walking mechanism is pretty cool.

Q: What is the BSL for this boot in a 27.5? I tried on the 2018 version of this boot today - other than the addition of the 4th buckle is there a big change between the two?
Asked : Oct 05, 2017

A: The fit of the 2018 version is a little different. The last on the 2018 got narrower by 1mm and the shell has a different shape to it. The BSL of the 27.5 is 310mm.

Q: The overview states: "The Cochise 120 has Tecnica's Ultra Fit Pro C.A.S. (Custom Adaptive Shape) that utilizes cork, which will allow a skilled bootfitter to easily dial the fit in for you by heating, grinding or punching the liner. " Does this mean that if I purchase these boots that I then have to take them and pay to have a skilled bootfitter customize them to fit my feet before I can use them?
Asked : Jan 08, 2017
By : Rob, Wilmington, NC
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: The Cochise 120 has a great fit if you fit into 100mm last this boot should work good for you. Tecnica makes this shell and liner very easy for a bootfitter to work with and customize, but it is not required.

Q: what does "instep high" mean on the description of the tecnica Cochise 120?
Asked : Feb 07, 2016
By : Lilly, boulder
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: The instep of your foot is the area directly above the arch on the top of your foot. If you have a high instep you most likely have a tall arch, or if you have a low arch you most likely have a low instep. Arch height and instep height go hand in hand.
