The new Salomon X-Pro 110 brings a new flex into the most popular boot series in skiing. The X-Pro 110 is a great option for the advanced to expert skier who wants a ski boot that can easily be customized for your feet. The 360 Degree Custom Shell is totally heat moldable by an Authorized Salomon Dealer who will heat the shell in a special oven. Once the boot is hot enough the bootfitter will put the boots on your feet. As the shell starts to cool down, it will stretch and shape to match the shape of your foot. A 45mm Power Strap keeps a snug wrap across your shin and adds rebound. The 24mm Oversized Pivot provides a strong connection to the upper cuff to the lower shell and adds more energy transfer to your skis. The My Custom Fit 3D Pro Liner is also customizable by heat for a true customized fit for your foot. Salomon's TwinFrame2 Technology has a stronger, but lighter plastic across the sole and spine of the shell for added responsiveness and power to your skiing.
Best Fits Most Foot Shapes After the Molding Process, and a Medium Leg Shapes
Q: Hi guys, my old Dalbello Pantera 100's are pretty beat. Shopping for new boots... I'd like to step up the stiffness of my boots this go around, but I don't want to find myself in a boot that is too stiff. I'm tempted to try a 120, but I've just thought they were always for bigger or expert skiers. I'm 5'10€, 160 lbs and a very strong intermediate or advanced skier. Comfortably ski any blacks and venture off trail. I ride Enforcer 93's. Do you think I should try a 110 boot like the Atomic Hawx 110 or the X-Pro 110 to be safe? Or would a 120 boot that can be dialed down, if need be, be a good choice, like the Hawx 120, X-Pro 120 or the Lange RX 120? Not sure how much those flex adjusters really work? Is a 120 crazy stiff for a 160 lb guy?
A: A 120 flex is not out of the question for a 5'10 160lbs aggressive skier. The most important factors that determine the flex of your boot are ankle flexion, the length of the shaft of your leg, and how aggressive you ski. Without seeing you bend and flex in the boot it is difficult to determine. A boot should properly flex for you at room temperature if you stand with your feet hip-width apart and can put your knees over your toes without bending at the body, twisting or sticking your butt out as you flex into both boots at the same time.
