The Salomon X-Max X12 is a powerful and agile carving ski for slicing tight turns down the fall line. A Full Woodcore with Double Ti Laminates, Carbon and the Powerline Frame keeps the weight of this speed demon low, and the stability high. Salomon's Oversize Active Contact Sidewalls cut through firm or icy conditions, absorb vibrations, and add more responsiveness to this tight-turning machine. The X12 utilizes a Koroyd Tip that pulls heavier material away from the tip of the ski for a lower swingweight and lightning quick turn initiation. If you want a ski that is ultra-stable, energetic and capable of making as many turns as you can down the mountain, the Salomon X-Max X12 will not disappoint you.

My Salomon x-drive 80 ti snapped in half. Hope these are more durable. They are similar to my old x-drives but are lighter, narrower and more nimble. Very fun if you like short turns. On powder days I use a fat ski, but the rest of the ...Read More

I was enticed by the good looks and the fact that these skis incorporated a binding system. I was replacing USA-made Volant skis that gave me great service for many years and very many miles! Confounded a bit by the wide range of ski length...Read More

Q: I am 5'4" and 150lb. I ski fast groomed or slow trees blacks and double blacks. I tend to be aggressive in my ski style. What would you recommend? Foot size is 7.5 or 8.

A: Based on your weight and aggressiveness, I would recommend the 160cm for you. Please keep in mind that this is a high-speed, on trail carver with limited abilities off piste or in the trees.

Q: I am 5'8" and 160 pounds. I ski all groomed intermediate and black diamond trails. Wondering if this ski is the right model for me, and if so, what size? I'll also add I'm 42. Not sure if the rocker camber and extra stiff is too much for me, or perfect for my skiing style? I like to carve, but don't find myself overly aggressive.

A: This is a stiff ski, but not overly demanding or punishing. If you like smooth, tight turns the X12 would be a great option for you. Based on your weight and ability, I would recommend the 165cm for you.

Q: I am 6'3", 182 lbs. and can ski any trail up to a single black without any problem. Also, I am 63 years old so I don't want to get hurt. Are these good skis for me?

Know the answer? Answer this question

A: This would be a solid option for you if you spend all of your time on the groomers. This is not a very demanding ride. Based on your weight and ability, I would recommend the 175cm for you.
