Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis for versatile all-mountain
The Sky 7 HD from Rossignol is a perfect ski for the skier looking for excellent soft snow skiing ability can carve on the frontside of the mountain too. Rossignol's Carbon Alloy Matrix is made from a blend of carbon and basalt to give the Sky 7 a solid grip on the firm snow and vibration absorption without adding extra weight to the ski. The new Air Tip 2.0 Construction does a fantastic job of pulling heavier material away from the tip and tail of the ski to lower the swingweight and improve the maneuverability. The newest incarnation of the Air Tip as a reinforced structure that eliminates tip wobble that skis with a heavily rockered tip can get. Rossi's Powder Turn Rocker helps the Sky 7 HD ride great in the deep snow while feeling edgy and nimble on those days where the snowpack is keeping you on the groomers.

I have demo'd quite a few pairs in the last 4 years and by far I found the Sky 7's the funniest, quickest, and most well balanced ski for my body height and weight. Almost 6 ft but only around 15o lbs I do not need a heavy flat ski. It holds a rail from tip to tail on hardpack, moves quickly and effortlessly during short radius turns, and handles bumps softly and responsively. Also keeps it's float during pow days and handles like a sharp knife in butter! I have found that it takes time to find YOUR ski but well worth it when you do. Rossignol's has off piste as well as carving ski's that can cover you and your quiver with one model.Hide

Hi I'm Adam and I was just skiing on the Rossignol Sky 7 HD. I give this ski 4 out of 5 stars. Strong intermediate all the way up to expert skier looking for a lot of versatility in it. 98mm underfoot generous amount of rocker and tip taper makes this ski extremely easy to ski. In the softer snow, variable snow and in the bumps. But the HD part of this ski really gives it a little extra horse power, especially as you exit a turn when things are a little bit firm or a little bit crunchy. Extremely stable once you ramp it up to speed. Not the most comfortable at longer turns but when you really want to pivot it and spank it into some shorter tighter turns, it does a great job. 4 out of 5 stars.Hide

Hi I'm Thom I just got off the Rossignol Sky 7, this is a 5 out of 5 star ski for me. Completely re-designed for this year with the new air tip 2.0. And it just makes the ski a lot more versatile. For a 98 waisted ski, this thing absolutely rails carves on hard pack, tons of edge hold but you really don't have to put a whole lot of energy into it. Its very easy to ski, but you get a lot out of it. With the tip shape it is also really playful, you're able to smear and ski the ski pretty easily, so for crud, bumps and powder it is still going to be great there. If you're looking for one ski that can really tackle everything, but still offer great on trail performance it is hard to beat.Hide
Q: Im 5,6 140 pounds tend to ski more on the aggressive side but still enjoy groomers and jumps would the sky 7 be good for all terrain different snow types considering the 164 cm
A: The Sky 7 would be an awesome option for all conditions. 98mm will be a sweet spot for enough surface area to stay on top of powder but still be able to get it on edge if it's icy. Flexible enough for trees but stable on the groomers. I think this would be an awesome option for you.

Q: I am 5'5'' (135 lbs) and an intermediate/advanced aggressive skier. My last pair of skis were heavier and 146 cm. I am debating sizes between the 156 and 164.
A: If binding weight is your main concern the lightest option we would recommend pairing with the Sky 7 is the Tyrolia Attack 13. This is a binding that blends performance with a very light construction. If you're willing to sacrifice performance and ease of use you could step down to the Marker Squire which is about 25% lighter.

Q: Im looking to buy the Rossi Sky 7. Im 5'8: 172lbs Looking at the 172. Depending on the company I'm 50/50 on off piste. Tend to ski conservatively but still enjoy steeps and bumps Is 172 best option Thanks
A: At your weight and height we would typically lean towards the 180cm length for this ski. However, if you are conservative and prefer tight controlled turns at lower speeds the 172cm would be acceptable for you.

Q: I'm 5'10" 150lbs and would consider myself a solid advanced intermediate skier that is progressing quickly. I've been exploring more advanced terrain with trees and bumps in Utah the past couple of years and recently demoed the new Exp88 which I really enjoyed. I will be moving to Germany this summer and want a ski (replacing '15/'16 Exp77s that I learned on) that will allow me to really develop into an advanced/expert skier that can take advantage of the Alps, doing more trees/bumps/powder while allowing me to still develop more aggressive carving on piste. I'm currently torn between the Exp94s, Sky 7 HD and Soul 7 HD, though I'm open to other brands. My current skis are 160cm but I'm thinking I should be on something more around ~175cm.
A: The Sky 7 HD is really the ski you want to be looking at. The 94-98mm waist width is the most versatile for skiing on and off trail with one pair of skis and the shape of the Sky 7 gives you something that is progressive and super fun off trail. The Experience 94 is still a great all purpose ski but is still more targeted to on trail skiing with a carving focus. The Soul 7 will be such a big departure from what you are familiar with and cost you a lot of on trail performance. At your height and weight you could ski the 171cm or the 180cm depending on if you are looking more for control or stability at speed and float in powder.

Q: Size question: i just started skiing 2 yrs ago, but have been progressing well so intermediate transitioning to expert. Been skiing Rossi experience 77 @ 168 which is great on groomers, but want more versatile ski for powder etc. I'm 5'11 180. Not overly aggressive skier but not casual cruiser either. Was thinking 172 for control/ turning but sounding like should go 180? Mostly ski Kootenay region in BC and bit in Montana, Idaho. Many thanks, Bjarne
A: This would be a great ski for you to transition to, the performance and versatility will be a huge step in the right direction. At your weight and height I would strongly recommend that you go with the 180cm length. The taper and rocker this ski has, combined with a relatively compact turn shape means these skis are super nimble and easy to maneuver so sizing down is not necessary.

Q: Is there a difference between the Men's & Women's versions of the Sky 7s? I've heard they're very similar and I'd much prefer the orange to the W's pink colour if there's little difference between the two.... Also wondering about length (5'6"/170lbs); was thinking of going for the 172's but not sure?

A: The only difference between the Sky 7 HD and Sky 7 HD W is the graphic, otherwise they are the same ski. At your weight and height the 172cm length would be great if you are an aggressive skier, if you are most casual to intermediate size down to the 164.

Q: What is the difference between the 2018 and 2019 Sky 7 models
A: The 2018 Sky 7 is identical to the 2019 Sky 7, it is a 2 year model.

Q: Hi, thanks for the great reviews! I want to buy a one quiver ski with AT binding for both on and off piste including touring. Plan to buy the Rossignol Sky 7 HD as I very much value maneuverability both off and on piste (I love short turns on groomers). However the ski should allow some carving and edge hold at decent speed on groomers, but I do not ski overly fast and aggressive. I tested the Soul 7 (not Sky 7) in last version (not the HD). Great maneuverability and off piste performance but did lack edge hold on groomers for my opinion. From your reviews the Sky 7 HD should provide that mix. I am 37 years, 6€1€€, 183 lbs and advanced skier. What length would you recommend, 180? or even 188 for more stability? In carving skis on groomers I prefer shorter length for maneuverability, around 160-170. Or would you rather recommend the Salomon QST 99 or K2 Pinnacle 95 ti for my purpose? Thanks a lot!
A: The newest HD version does have a little more boosting power and edge grip when you are on piste, with a high amount of rocker in the tip and tail that is great to ride in soft snow. Based on your weight and ability I would recommend the 180cm unless you are very aggressive. If you want quicker turning you should stay with the 180cm unless more flotation is more important to you, in that case you will want the 188cm. The QST 99 is a little stronger of a carver on piste, but loses a little bit in flotation compared to the rocker profile of the Sky 7. I don't really recommend the Pinnacle 90 Ti if you are going to be adding an AT binding, it's just a little too heavy.
