Tip Rocker/Camber skis for edge hold; easy turn initiation
The Elan Wingman 78 C is an aggressive ski, built for the strong intermediate to expert skier looking to bridge the gap between all-mountain and freeride technology. The Wingman is new this season with a truly unique shape featuring Elan's Amphibio Rocker, enhancing all-mountain ripping energy in any terrain and conditions. The Amphibio Rocker paired with TruLine Technology creates a unique and dedicated left and right ski, which have rockered outside edges and cambered inside edges for a front-side focused, asymmetrical all-mountain ski. The 78 C is crafted with a single layer of carbon, allowing you to add more versatility to your performance while significantly reducing the weight. Let the Elan Wingman 78 C be your gateway to great times and perfect turns!

Hi, I'm Adam and I just skied on the new Elan Wingman 78 C. This is an excellent ski for your athletic beginner, someone who's got a few times down the hill under their belt who really wants a ski to help them improve. It has Amphibio Rocker Technology, which really helps the ski engage into a turn nice and quick. The things that I found so beneficial about this ski is how light the ski is and how easy it is to ski, but once you ramp up the speed it is very nice and stable. You get a full-length vertical sidewall in here so you get a good solid edge grip when things get a little bit firm. But it's light, it's easy, it's forgiving and once you immprove, it's a ski that can really get you over that next hump to the next level. So it's a lot of benefit to this ski, especially for your brand new skier, someone who's lighter and really just looking to improve. Hide

Hi, I'm Thom, I just got done riding the all-new Elan Wingman 78 C. This is a really cool ski for the beginner to kinda mid-intermediate skier. Somebody who's maybe transitioning out of rental gear, transitioning out of junior equipment, getting their first real set of adult skis. Elan puts their Amphibio Tech in this ski, so it allows that uphill skier to just come around a little bit easier which makes these things effortless to ski. They really like to steer it, smear it and skid that turn, so for somebody who doesn't quite have that technique to get up a drive the ski through the turn, they're going to be really easy going. But once you do get there, the sidewall really provides some solid edge hold so you're not gonna overpower this ski right away. Obviously, it's most at home at low to medium speeds, it's not gonna be for your aggressive skier. But for that beginner to intermediate that really wants to progress quickly and be super comfortable on their skis, this is a great option.Hide
A: Yes, they would be too small. According to your weight, our size chart recommends a 176cm in length.

Q: Looking for skis - 5 11 and 210lbs. New to skiing but played hockey. With minimum instruction on day one managed to make it down a blue trail for my last run. Have a lot to learn but think I will pick up quickly. Would this be a good ski for me? Not looking to do anything crazy - just get a little better and mainly ski front greens and blues. I am older so hopefully wiser.

A: This would be an excellent ski for what you're trying to accomplish. The Wingman is not overly demanding and is a great learning tool to dial your skills in.

Q: Hi, I started to ski 5 years ago and i run on the european red slopes. I can drive skis in parallel and I am learning the carving technique. During my last ski trip last year I rode Dynastar Speed Zone 9 ca and felt extremely confident on the skis, almost like cheating. Then I switched to the Salomon S/max 10 and they felt extremely stiff and heavy. I have been suggested to buy the Elon wingman 78 C but I actually wonder what's the real difference with the 78 Ti in practical terms. Both get a pretty similar rating on websites. Which pair should I invest on? Will the 78C feel too easy too soon? or the 78 Ti too difficult too soon? Thank you
A: The Wingman 78 C is going to be an awesome option for you and where you're at with skiing. The TI version is going to be a little to stiff for you but would be something you can work towards as you progress.
