The new Elan Ripstick 96 is a ripping all-mountain ride for any skier seeking versatility and power in a remarkably lightweight package. Elan's TNT Technology brings together the TubeLite Woodcore and Vapor Tip to give you maneuverability and stability anywhere on the mountain. A TubeLite Woodcore uses 5mm Carbon Tubes that run the entire length of the ski that follow the arc of the sidecut for stability, and responsiveness. Those carbon tubes increase the torsional strength, while keeping the ski light, so light in fact you will not believe how smooth the Ripstick will ski. Vapor Tip Construction uses Advanced Composite materials in the tip and tail that lower the swingweight, and increase your ability to make tight turns on firm snow, in the trees, and entrances to a narrow couloir. Elan's Amphibio Rocker only makes the Ripstick 96 more maneuverable by having a rockered outside edge in the tip, and a cambered inside edge for quicker turns and grip on the snow. If you want a ski that can charge through the powder, carve on rails, and feel light on your feet, the Elan Ripstick 96 is the ski for you.

Q: What's the best Elan ski for moguls? Is it the Ripstick?i
Asked : Mar 01, 2018
By : Indy, Alberta
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: The Ripstick 96 is fairly solid in the bumps. In my opinion the Ripstick 86 is a little quicker edge to edge and would be the best Elan ski for bump skiing.

Q: I am 5 10” 187lb and a pretty good skier (not expert) and was wondering what size ripstick 96 would be good for me .

A: Based on your weight and ability I would recommend the 181cm for you.

Q: I'm 175cm female weighting around 63.5kg. I've just tested these and want to buy them but unsure on length. The hire shop didn't have the 174cm which I would usually go for, I've tested the 181cm and love them but wonder if as an all mountain touring ski they will be too long/heavy. What would you recommend?

Know the answer? Answer this question

A: Based on your weight I would consider the 181cm too long for you, but if you tested them and loved them, who I am to judge. I would recommend the Elan Ripstick 94 W at 163cm for your weight.

Q: Would these elan ripstick 96 be good for moguls?
Asked : Jan 14, 2018
By : Robert, New Hampshirew
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: The shape and rocker profile make the Ripstick 96 a very versatile ride for any condition on the mountain. While it shines in some soft snow and carving conditions, it rides pretty well in the bumps.

Q: Is this a ski that you could put skins on and hike with?
Asked : Apr 14, 2017
By : steve, Homer Glen
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: This is a very lightweight ski that would be fairly easy to skin with and use in the backcountry. The waist width would not be too wider or cumbersome that it inhibits you on the way up, and is wide enough to provide ample flotation and support on the way down.

Q: Can you tell me what a pair of these skis weight? I am considering them for my backcountry set up since I already ski a pair of Elan Spectrum 95 (2016 model) for in bounds.
Asked : Jan 02, 2017
By : Charles, United States
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: The 181cm weighs 7.5 lbs. for the pair, unmounted.
