The Waymaker 90 from Atomic is a perfect boot for the intermediate to advanced skier that has a tall instep, medium to wide forefoot and shaft of the leg. The entire Waymaker Line has one Live Fit Panel that makes the 101mm last seem much wider than it is. A Live Fit Panel is a soft rubber pad on the outside of the boot that stretches once you place your foot inside the boot. The Waymaker 90 has the Free/Lock System that has a lever located on the rear spine of the boot that unlocks the upper cuff from the lower shell that gives you a wide range of motion that allows you to hike or walk easier. 3M Insulation is included in the liner to keep feet warm on those cold and windy days. If you are looking for a boot that is rigid enough for the advanced skier, but flexible enough for the intermediate skier that is comfortable and easy to walk in, the Atomic Live Waymaker 90 will make a fine selection.

These boots are quite functional and comfortable. They are designed for a higher instep which I have, and seem to work well in that area. They are snug enough to be solid with only 3 buckles. Not super stiff, so more suitable for middle ...Read More

Q: though I have a medium width foot and thin ankle, I have some calcium bumps on TOP of my feet above the arch that are sensitive to a tight boot fit. Does this accommodate this condition or should I look at other boots? If so, any recommendations?

Know the answer? Answer this question

A: The Waymaker has a pretty tall instep, which is the area on the top of your foot. This would be your best bet, because it does have quite a bit of space there for you. Your condition may require some modification by a bootfitter to accommodate the calcium deposit regardless of the boot. A knowledgeable bootfitter has the proper tools to make the adjustment for you.

By : Derb, United States
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: Atomic produces WTR soles, but are sold separately from the Waymaker 90. When you do change soles, please make sure that you are using a binding that is WTR sole compatible.

Q: would these work well with the Salomon Z12 Ski Bindings ? There was some comment that the Salomon are tight to fit..

By : Uwe, Boulder
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: The Waymaker 90 has a standard alpine ski boot sole, which is compatible with a standard alpine ski binding. A Certified Salomon Binding Technician can safely adjust the Z12 to properly fit your boots.
