The Alkali Revel 5 SR Hockey Skates were made to deliver recreational performance to any beginner player looking for a step up in quality and improve their skills. Quick to break-in with its heat moldable properties, you get a custom-fitting skate for long lasting play. The vented tongue and 9mm brushed nylex liner keep the moisture management under control so you can focus on the rink. purchased skates for my 13 year old. the boot on this skate is stiffer then the one on his ice skates. Should last for a long time

A: The wheels that come on this skate are soft and are going to wear out very fast if used outdoors. The skates are fine for outdoor use if you change the wheels out. Given these are hockey skates the boot is very stiff in rigid making it great for hockey but it's not going to be overly comfortable for longer leisurely skating sessions.

Q: Thank you for the metal frame for so much more control, but are the wheels rockerable? I'll never skate on 8 even wheels again - turns me into Frankenstein - lose so much maneuverability. Does the weight distribution really make a big enough difference to mimic rockering? Thank you and roll on.

A: This skate follows a hilo system so the back 2 wheels on each skate are 80mm and the front two wheels are 76mm giving a great skate feel for cornering while still offering a good top speed. I have skated on the hilo setup for hockey and it is a very performance motivated design giving you the ability to turn on a dime and gives an awful lot of control.
