Welcome to Ski Talk. I'm Thom from Today I'm joined by Mike from Atomic. How's it going, Mike? It's going great. Thanks for having me, Thom. Thanks for joining us. Today we've got an awesome series of boots to share with you. This is the new Hawx 2.0 women's series from Atomic.

Do you want to tell us a little about these? Absolutely. The Hawx series has been around forever and the legendary fit just got better. New for this year is Sole Flex which creates a softer flexing sole so it creates a better bending line for this year. Little bit more balanced stance, also less fatiguing throughout the day? Absolutely. And to that, this is built off of the tried and true 100mm platform which fits tons of feet and then you guys also add your Flat Bottom Chassis. That's true. With Flat Bottom Chassis not a lot of manufacturers do that but essentially the sole of the boot comes away from the toe and the heel lock a little longer, a little flatter so the foot lays flatter and fits better in the boot. So, it gives you that fantastic, comfortable, out of the box fit. Right. To this boot you've also added some Grip Soles. Yes. The Grip Soles are a softer rubber and they have lots of traction in them so they're easier, more comfortable to walk in the snow or in the parking lot.

And then one of the great women's specific features you've added to this is the easy Macro Upper Buckle. Yes, with that, you know, just by pushing up on the upper buckle, you're able to adjust the fit, the closure around the calf infinitely quicker. And then, combined with the scalloped calf which is a women's specific design element as well, you really provide a comfortable upper to the boot that fits tons of different leg shapes. Exactly. And also, throughout the whole Hawx series is different kind of liners. We have silver and gold. And this boot has silver liner which has Thinsulate which is new for this year which gives the skier a very warm boot even when wet. And that's pretty much all you need to say about Thinsulate. Tons of extra warmth no matter what the conditions are. So, specifically with that Hawx 80, what type of skier are we looking at? Intermediate level skier. Somebody who's been, maybe, wearing a comfort boot, now they want a little more performance oriented boot.

So, from the 80 we jump up to the 90 which, a lot of similarities to the 80 but we're dealing with a little bit stiffer, more performance boot here? Yes, exactly. So, it's still has Thinsulate, still has all the buckles but it is a stiffer flexing boot for a little more performance-oriented skier. And then from the 90 we jump up to the 100 which is what I've got. This is the flagship boot here. This is really the performance-oriented lady that still wants a comfortable boot. Absolutely, and with the 100 you gain power shift which allows us to adjust the boot, the forward lean between 13, 15 and 17 degrees and also you can adjust the flex plus or minor 10 points. So, tons of customization. Yes, and also that one has the gold liner which has a little more diamond shaped foam to it. So, diamond shaped foam, stiffer foam, quicker responding, more performance. Yes. And then we still, to not sacrifice any comfort, we keep the Thinsulate here too, right? Absolutely. So it's still a very warm boot. So, this boot is going to be found on the feet of your most aggressive all-mountain lady skiers. That's right. You know, for the skier who's been skiing a long time, maybe an ex-racer, but definitely a very proficient skier.

Fantastic. That sums up the Hawx 2.0 women's series so whether you're looking to buy the 80, 90 or 100, you can check them out over at Thanks for joining us.
