2012 Salomon BBR 7.9 Ski Review

Reviewed by Steve K (Skis.com Staff)

Hi I'm Steve, I just got off the Salomon BBR 7.9 This is the side-capped version of the BBR ski I give this ski a 5 out of 5 stars. I've already skied it three times. This is my third time testing it. I love this ski. Big wide tip, great for powder crud conditions, lots of side-cut can handle hardpack and ice, it carves amazing well, you can never believe how well this ski can carve inspite of the fact it has such a wide tip. It's a brand new shaped ski. From Salomon, really revolutionary, I think you're gunna skis in the future shaped like this ski. BBR ski can be good for anybody from an intermediate to and expert skier. It's amazingly versatile, it will go on almost any kind of conditions and really can adapt. It has a really short turning radius, 12-13 meters, but it can take big wide open turns as well. And it's very poppy, very snappy, this one I'd recommend for the lighter weight men or women, there's a sidewall version which is the 8.9 for more heavy guyers and more hardcore skiers.
