Reaching all your favorite snow resorts in Colorado has become a bit easier with the re-opening of the Eagle County Airports main runway. The runway has re-opened after a runway extension and maintenance project was finished, making it better than it has ever been. The first co
mmercial flight to land was met by the Beaver Creek chefs happily handing out freshly baked cookies welcoming the passengers signifying the runways readiness for the winter season.
If you’re flying into Colorado for skiing or snowboarding your best choice is most likely going to be Eagle County Airport as it is in proximity to many of the most popular resorts. the airport being located in the middle of Vail and Beaver Creek as well as Sunlight Mountain Resort. Aspen Mountain, Snowmass, Buttermilk, and Aspen Highlands are roughly 70 miles away with Steamboat 90 miles to to the north. Summit county resorts Breckenridge, Copper and Keystone are all between 60 to 70 miles away. From the airport you can rent a car or take a shuttle making your dream vacation easier to plan than ever before.
There will be four commercial carriers serving the airport American, Continental, Delta and United making it easy to find a flight or use your favorite carrier. There will be four daily non-stop flights from Denver offered by United Express. American Airlines will be offering service five days a week from Dallas/Fort Worth. Check for full winter schedules that will start in mid December.
There are also some perks to using this new runway which could earn you free lift tickets at Vail or Beaver Creek, which are the closest to the Airport. Booking a ticket into the Eagle County Airport from Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas/Fort Worth or Denver from November 20th through April 11th will earn you free passes to Vail or Beaver Creek when you arrive there. To receive the pass you must show a valid boarding pass and Vail valley lodging confirmation.
Pack your gear and get ready to shred the slopes out in Colorado as it has become easier than ever to get out and spend some time at the resort of your choice. The Eagle Airport has been running flights for over 20 years and has contributed in this time more than $982 Million to the local economy annually and serves 440,000 passengers a year.

Eric,
Thank you for your inquiry, but unfortunately, we’re not truly familiar with that area or the shops. Our best recommendation for you is to try calling the resort where you skied and talk with someone in their pro/gear shop. Perhaps they will have more information on the store name or perhaps a website. If all they can give you is a store name, maybe you can track down a phone number or website on the Internet where you can purchase ski blades.
Other than that, we can really only recommend you scour the web for sites that have a large selection of ski blades. We’re sorry we can’t be more help than this, but hope this helps you in your search.
Andrew
