Ski failed in less than a year
Comments:
Bought these for my 10 year old. Mounted them early this year last ski season. 10th trip this year ski tip delaminated. Kid is 96 pounds and a very good skier. Very upset that this ski failed like this. I have have skied many skis and my own old Mantra's took a beating beyond belief. Like so much these days. The ski is worthless.

Mantra Jr takes a beating and keeps on going
Comments:
These are what my son has skied this year in a 138. He is 10 years old 90 lbs and 4' 10" he is on his 4 year skiing about 40 days a year in western Montana.
Durability: Very good, top sheet has held up well and the basses seem pretty hard. The only chips are from him bashing the tips and tails together on the lift. Not one base weld all season!
Hard/groomed snow: Very good once he figured out how to ski centered and use the edges of the ski. He can skid the tails very easily to scrub speed. When we bomb groomers he is going as fast as me. They seem to carve very well for a full rockered ski.
Off Pist: very good for a kids ski, easy for him to smear turns and change direction on a whim. We ski a lot of trees and bumps, he doesn't get hung up too often.
Pow: Well they are still a bit short and narrow for a true powder ski, he has figured out 6-10" days. More than that and he gets buried. The mount is centered so I had to teach him to lean way back so his tips don't dive.
My observations: A very easy ski for a kid to get on a rip regardless of their ability level, they have a fairly soft flex but still seem to carve well make short snappy turns when needed. The twin tip full rockered design seem gimicky but it works really well for this ski. I wish they made them a bit stiffer (like 10%).
Other skis considered: Rossi smash 7, K2 shreadator.

Q: I am a 4'11" woman weighing 110 pounds, an intermediate to advanced skier. I want an all mountain ski. Would these be a good ski for me or would I be better off looking at an intermediate woman's ski?

Know the answer? Answer this question

A:I would discourage you from skiing any junior skis, you have much stronger legs and ability than a junior skier. You would not get optimal performance.
