The Volkl Gotoma returns again this season, as an all mountain slayer that can excel in the choppy ungroomed terrain, or powder, but still be maneuverable and quick edge to edge when you feel like ripping a groomer. At 107mm underfoot the Gotama has the girth to float and smear, when the snow is soft and deep, but not be too lose on the hard pack. The Multi-Layer Sensor Wood Core is powered by carbon to give you that light, and responsive feel with out sacrificing stability. The Extended Low Profile (ELP) rocker profile will give you more finesse on the powder, help the ski hook up and engage turns quicker, and make the ski more predictable in all conditions. The Gotama has had a cult following since its inception for a reason. Its carving and turning ability for a ski in that waist width is unmatched, and it has the width, shape and rocker profile to be a great ski for the powder, and ungroomed terrain. It can be an excellent ski for the intermediate who is looking to broaden his horizons, without being too powerful, and it has plenty of stability and power for the expert who wants a ski that can go anywhere, but enjoys being off the trail more than not.

Skill Range:

  • Multi Layer Sensorwood Core - Creates The Perfect Flex For Effortless Float And Carving Ability
  • Power Construction - Vertical Sidewalls With An Internal Torsion Box Provide Tremendous Grip, Stability, and Sensitivity
  • Powered By Carbon - A Carbon Fiber Layer Within The Core Adds Stability, Liveliness, And Snap
  • ELP Full Rocker - Tip To Tail Rocker With Zero Camber For Unlimited Maneuverability In Soft Snow And Clean, Graceful Arcs On Groomed Terrain

        Comments about Volkl Gotama Skis:

Kyle here with the Volkl Gotama, I really liked this ski so i give it 4 1/2 out of 5. Pretty much does everything I want it to. For the Midwest it might be a little bit wide, but it will pretty much handle anything you want here, and if you want to go out west it will take it where ever you want it to. Good for powder, good for hard pack and, all around good ski.

What's going on, Jeff here, Volkl Gotama, I love this ski 6/5 stars. I love it so much I own a pair. This guy is super fun, really fast, if you get this thing to tilt enough, to do some nice big turns. Laying a hard edge on the groomers, run it through trees, playing in the bowls, working on the glades. Whatever you like to do this ski will go there, and you will have fun doing it. It's 105 underfoot, makes it extremely stable, good tip and tail rocker. Moving it back a little bit this year, so your gonna be able to turn it in a lot faster. It's gonna float way better, I own it that's, how good it is.

Hey, this is Hans, with the Volkl Gotama, this is an amazing ski. Its 108 underneath the foot, if you leave them off the edge, its got a real surfy feel, because the ski is slightly rockered. You put them on the edge, it will perform like a race ski. It is a race construction ski, but on a wider chassis. I obviously love that ski, for the experienced skier. You can ski it in the Midwest, out West, really wherever you wanna go, I give this ski a 5/5.

Hello this is Trey just got off the new volkl Gotoma. Definitely been a cult classic for years it doesn't disappoint this year. I give it 4/5 stars a little beefy for me, but once you get it up to speed you can turn it quick if you need to. You can definitely rail big long turns. Powers through the crud, it's got rocker in it so you can get through bumps, and tighter spaces pretty much go all over a big mountain and have a great day.

                    Comments about Volkl Gotama Skis:

Hi, Tom here with the Volkl Gotama, I'm gonna give this 4/5 stars. For a ski 108 underfoot, super nimble, it's easy to get onto edge. The only downside is at the finish of the turn coming through the exit. It doesn't quite have the pop, or that push through the next edge that a lot of other skis at this waist width have these days. The rocker makes it real mellow, and for a wide ski since there's no metal in it, it's pretty forgiving. You don't have to be the most aggressive skier in the world to get a lot out of it. If you are, and your heavy over the tips, it's still gonna hold, and carve real well for you. Then bust up anything in the crud, or the trees, deep pow it's gonna be fine for as well. So that intermediate, all the way through advanced skier, who's looking for a one ski fits all type of idea, this is it.

Hey this is Luke just finished skiing the Volkl Gotama. I give this ski 4/5 stars It was probably just a little too much ski for me, but regardless tremendous edge grip. It's fairly lightweight ski definitely commands a larger area, and higher speed to arc some nice turns. Definitely for your advanced to expert level skiers.

Hey this is Bram. I just got done riding the Volkl Gotama. Great ski. Real flat tail so it hold a super good edge when you're really ripping on it. I give this ski a 4 out of 5 stars. You can really ski it all over the mountain. It's got a nice width in the waist. A little bit of rocker in the tip so it's really easy to initiate the turns but it is a little bit more of a demanding ski. Not something for the beginner skier.

Hey, I'm Brad, and I just got of the volkl Gotama. I like this ski a lot, I'm gonna give it a 4 1/2 out of 5. I'm a big fan of the Volkl twin lines, their super damp, they hold an edge really well no matter how fast your skiing. My only complaint with this ski was that it was a little slow from side to side. Didn't really have that pop, or snappiness that some of it's little brother like the Bridge did. If your a guy who's looking for something wider, getting to the softer stuff, and likes to make those big, solid arc turns, and wants to know that the ski is under you. It's stable, your not gonna wash out, this would be an awesome choice. Definitely on the lighter side to, so for those of us that aren't big, and burly, it's a nice ski on our feet. It doesn't take a lot to move it around.

I'm Adam, and I was just skiing on the 2013 Volkl Gotama. I give this ski 5/5. If your a big strong skier, you like to ski anywhere, or anytime, do anything, the Gotama's your ski really. It can handle bumps, powder, crud, rail some turns on the groomers, you could use it as a backcountry set up. If your looking for a one ski does it all, at a true all mountain ski. Now it's definitely getting over a 100 underfoot, and this ski does everything well 5/5.
