The Mach 1 130 MV is a boot that is designed for aggressive experts, and the bootfitters that fit those types of skiers. The MV stands for MID VOLUME last that has a 100mm last that best fits skiers that have a medium to narrow forefoot. The Mach 1 is the flagship of C.A.S. Technology (Custom Adaptive Shape) that has a liner that is easily customizable by heat, grinding or punching that can get you fit dialed in perfectly. The C.A.S. Shell is a pleasure to work on for a skilled bootfitter. The burly 130 flex has the power to wrangle the most aggressive experts and provide them with control and power in any condition. The i-Rebound Construction has four metal on metal connection points that deliver rebound, forward flex resistance, and rearward stability, especially at high speeds. The Mach 1 has a Quick Instep that is a softer injected plastic that is directly over the instep of your foot that allows your foot to slide into and out of very easily. Tecnica has added a 45mm Power Lock Strap that can locks down, and cranks tight for added power to this speed demon. If you are looking for the easiest boot for a bootfitter to customizable, with lots of power, the Tecnica Mach 1 130 MV is the boot to have, get one while you can.

Q: Just wondering the difference with the Mach 1 120's vs the Dragon 120 HiperFit of a few years back? Are they stiffer? do they feel the same? What would be the notable differences. cheers, Tom

A: The newest versions of the Mach 1 have a bit more of an updated fit vs. the Dragons from a few seasons ago. The toe box is a little wider and the boot is much easier to put on. Tecnica does use a different plastic that is not as susceptible to changing the flex with warmer or colder temperatures. The addition of the C.A.S. Liner and Shell are a dream for bootfitters to work with.

Q: I have tried the Mach 1 120 and it was much softer than a usual 120 flex boot I have tried on. I do know that the flex ratings are not standard among all companies but still. Is the 130 boot made of the same material meaning will it fell softer than most 130 boots too? I have also tried out the Cochise 130 and just wanted to ask what the biggest differences of that is vs the mach 1 130. I am a frontside skier but I go out west very often and might try to ski some backcountry. Which boot would be best for that?

Know the answer? Answer this question

A: The Mach1 130 utilizes the same materials as the Mach1 120, but it is a stiffer plastic. Since is has a modern and upright stance the first 5-10 degrees of flex are designed to be relatively smooth, but it is definitely a stiff boot. Unless you really desire the ski/walk functionality of the Cochise the Mach1 is the shell I would recommend for a skier that is predominantly on trail. Since the Mach1 boots have a pinned cuff they offer a more immediate response and better rebound for advanced to expert skiers. While the metal on metal ski/walk feature on the Cochise is metal on metal, making it a strong connection pinned cuffs still offer the best response.
