Medium - ideal for near-intermediate to advanced skiers

The new Salomon X-Pro 90 Ski Boots make a great boot for intermediate to advanced skiers. Equipped with Salomon's 360 Degree Custom Shell, you'll be able to tweak your boots so they are dialed in perfectly. It can be baked in a special oven to reach 220 degrees, carefully placed on your foot, and the entire shell can expand out by the force of your foot pushing the shell out for a dialed in fit that matches the anatomical shape of your foot perfectly. The last starts at 100 mm and can stretch out to a maximum of 106 mm with everything in between. Salomon's 24mm Oversized Pivot is the first hinge point of its kind that is made to deliver more power and control to modern wide and rockered skis. The Twinframe Construction has a precise wrap around your foot, strong heel hold and powerful energy transmission to your skis. A 35mm Velcro power strap acts as a fifth buckle to give you more leverage to turn your skis. A flex rating of 90 has the security of a performance boot but it is not too aggressive that it can be overbearing for the advanced to intermediate skier. Step out onto the mountain in a pair of boots customized to your precise fit with these Salomon X-Pro 90 Ski Boots.

Q: Hello, I'm 25 and athletic--5'8" and 155 lbs. Ski ability is advanced-intermediate, but I'm hoping the next set of boots/skis I purchase will last me a while and allow me to take my skiing to the next level. After renting through my university years, I'm finally ready to invest in my own gear. These boots were recently recommended to me by a sales staff at a local shop. Do these boots represent good value? Are there any other models that I should be considering? Thanks!

A: Based on your stats and the type of skiing you will be doing, the Salomon X-Pro 90's would be a solid option for boots to get you through any types of conditions. They will be responsive yet comfortable, and should give you a solid model to continue progressing in. I would also recommend checking out the Dalbello Boss and Tecnica Cochise 90's as well, as they will provide you with a similar fit and feel.
