 Overview

The X-Drive 8.3 from Salomon is a great choice for the strong intermediate to expert skier looking for a lively frontside ski. The Light Density Wood Core, Basalt Layer, and Single Ti Laminate feel very light on your feet, stable at high speeds, and very agile. Salomon's X-Chassis Construction has diagonal strips of carbon fiber shaped into an X on the center of the ski that deliver a strong edge grip and responsiveness by increasing the torsional strength of the ski. The All-Terrain 2.0 Rocker Profile helps the ski enter and exit a turn quickly, while the camber underfoot springs you into your next turn. A RKS (Rocker Stabilizer) strengthens the 8.3 at the contact points with a composite fiber that adds an extra snap into your carves. A Semi-Sandwich Construction has a Cap Construction in the tips and tails for extra weight reduction and maneuverability, while an ABS Sidewall grips the firm conditions when you need it to.

Hi I'm Adam and i was just skiing on the Salomon X-Drive 8.3. I give this ski 5 out of 5 stars. It's extremely light, really, really snappy it makes a great ski for that solid intermediate to advanced skier. 83mm underfoot, so it's extremely nimble, extremely lively edge to edge. It has a coyroid tip, and their x-chassis construction, which makes it really, really stable at fast speeds but really, really light on your feet. 5 out of 5.

Hi my name is Thom. I just got off the Salomon X-Drive 8.3. This is a 4 out of 5 star ski for me. It's really aimed at your kind of advancing beginner through your kind of mid-level intermediate skier. Great on trial ski, very, very easy to get up on to edge. Really lightweight so you don't have to fight the ski; and that kind of short to medium radius turn is where this ski lives. Tons of stability, it's going to make you really confident on the hill. Definitely not for that advanced level skier or somebody who is really looking to get after it, but for that guy who is looking to kind of cruise on groomers and eat up the front side and groomed terrain, it's a fantastic option. 4 out of 5 stars.
