 Overview

The Salomon Q-88 Lux is a great ski for the intermediate to expert skier that needs a lightweight and snappy ski for mostly on trail skiing, with the ability to head off trail sometimes. Made with Salomon's Utility Rocker the Lux is a very well rounded ski. Utility Rocker has a rockered tip for easy turn initiation, and better flotation, camber underfoot for rebound, and a small amount of rocker in the tail for easy turn exit. The Hook Free Taper in the tips and tails increases the maneuverability by moving the contact points slightly further back to prevent them from getting hung up in fresh powder, bumps and crud. The Lux's 88mm waist is incredibly agile for making nice arcs down the mountain, will give you stability in variable conditions, and aid in flotation in the fresh snow. Salomon's Full Wood Core has a very lively and snappy feeling, making the Lux perfect for lightweight aggressive skiers. A Carve Zone placed in the middle of the sidecut will give you plenty of effective edge to gain control on firmer slopes. If you want a ski that looks great, with the ability to head off trail, the Salomon Q-88 Lux will be a great ski for you.

2016 Salomon Q-88 Lux Ski Review by Jessica
Comments:
Hi, I'm Jessica and I just got off the Salomon Q88 Lux. This ski, I rate it a 4 out of 5. It's a great all-mountain ski. Performs a little bit better if we had more powder. It didn't hold that good of an edge for me as what the Myriad did which is a narrower ski than this so if more powder is what you like to do, this is going to be a great ski for you but if you've got varying conditions and some crud, it plowed through the but on the harder pack snow it didn't keep that good of an edge and also it's going to be more for your intermediate to advanced intermediate skiers. It performs better when you get it up to speed so if you're more of a mellow intermediate, this ski might not be it for you.

2016 Salomon Q-88 Lux Ski Review by Linda
Comments:
Hi, I'm Linda. I just finished skiing the Salomon Q88 Lux. It's 88 underfoot so it's an all- mountain ski. Little wider base so it's a more stable. I give this a 3 out of 5. It's a nice ski. Doesn't do anything wildly fabulous, doesn't do anything really bad. Little unstable when you get too fast. The tip tends to shutter but if you roll it over on edge, that'll go away. So, 3 out of 5 for this Q88.

2016 Salomon Q-88 Lux Ski Review by Monica
Comments:
Hi, I'm Monica and I just got off skiing the Salomon Lux. I give this ski a 5 out of 5. It's an all-mountain ski. It's an intermediate expert ski. What I liked about it best was the fact that it's all, it's very versatile. And the turning radius was great. The turns held and the edges held. Also was nice in a little bit of fluff. A little bit of chatter on the grooms when it's a hard groom area but all-in- all I thought it was a great ski, you'd have a lot of fun with it. Again, it's the Lux and i give it a 5 out of 5.

2016 Salomon Q-88 Lux Ski Review by Annie
Comments:
Hi, I'm Annie and I just rode the Salomon Lux. Great intermediate ski. I'm going to give it a 4 out of 5. It's going to take a few turns or times down the hill to find a sweet spot on these skis but, once you do, they're a lot of fun. They do an excellent job in long, you know, smooth transitional turns. They are not one of their new ones but they've done a really good job with the remake I think here. Again, I'm going to give it a 4 out of 5.
