The Salomon Origins Lava is a great ski for the intermediate to advanced women's skier that will spend most of her time on the groomers and hard pack. The All Terrain Rocker is rocker in the tip of the ski with camber underfoot will help you engage the ski quicker on the groomers, and deflect some of the negative vibrations that are caused by crud and small moguls. A 74mm waist is quick and lively edge to edge, and prefers short to medium radius turns at all speeds fast, slow and in between. The Lightrak L9 binding system gives the Lava a nice, even flex that makes energy transmission smooth and easy. The Composite Double Monocoque Cap Construction is lively and stable, with out being too heavy. The Pulse Pad Dampening System has elastomer layers over the edge for shock absorption for smoother ski to snow contact. The Salomon Origins Lava is one of the best looking and skiing skis in its price range.

Comments about Salomon Origins Lava Womens Skis with L9 B80 Bindings:

Hey I'm Julie. I just got off the Salomon Origins Lava I give this ski 5 out 5 stars. It's really smooth and stable and predictable under the foot, so it's great for a intermediate level skier. One draw back is a little bit of instability in the variable snow and cruddy conditions, but once you actually got it onto the groomers it really skied surprisingly well. They lower the price point on this ski to make it more affordable for everybody. It's a great value and a really solid ski.

2013 Salomon Origins Lava Ski Review

        By April O.

Comments about Salomon Origins Lava Womens Skis with L9 B80 Bindings:

Hi I'm April and this is the Salomon Lava. I'm going to give this ski a 5 out of 5. This ski was a for that lady that's just starting to develop her tipping skills. She's not always on the money with her turn shape. She's pretty comfortable with the blues but black still intimidate her. She's got a lot of help with this ski. It's softer in the shovel and in the tail so when she tips it up on edge and starts to pressure it, it actually enhances the turn. It comes around and a cross the fall line quicker. So if you're someone who is struggling with your turns you're not always on the money and get all heebeegeebees on the blacks get back on your tails and you get launched give this ski a try. It doesn't let you get launched. Helps you by having the softer tail and it lets you come a cross the hill quicker. So you can catch up and get re-stacked and start your turn over again. Salomon Lava. I gave a 5.

Unfortunately we cannot tech and mount bindings without the new skis, bindings and boots purchased through us at the same time.

Are these bindings compatible with 327mm 28-285 mens boot on 167mm ski?

            A:

            John,

Unfortunately the women's system skis like this are only compatible with ski boots up to a size 27.5. If you are trying to fit a 28.5 ski boot on a womens ski you will need to purchase a flat ski and a binding separately which can be mounted to fit any size ski boot.
