The Rossignol S3 has been one of the best selling, all mountain skis that is super versatile for any condition. The Powder Turn Rocker has 50% tip and tail rocker, and 50% high camber underfoot. The tip rocker will keep the ski floating on top of the powder, engage the ski quicker on the hard pack, and deflect some of the negative energy that you get from skiing variable, and cruddy snow. The high camber underfoot gives you more power, energy, and stability on the groomers. A Sandwich sidewall construction gives the S3 fantastic edge grip on the ice or firm snow. The wood/fiberglass core is very snappy, but strong. It enables the S3 to have a stiff, but easy to control feel to it. At 98mm at the waist the S3 falls into that category that can be quick edge to edge, but still have ample width when the snow starts to pile up. The Spoon Tip makes the S3 float better in powder, but not seem grabby like skis that have that uber wide shovel. If you dont know what your day out on the slopes might be, powder laps, burning groomers, or playing around in the trees. Or you live in the Midwest, or Back East and want a ski that will give you the waist width to float and play when you travel, the Rossignol S3 is one of the most versatile skis on the market this season.

Comments about Rossignol S3 Skis:

Hi this is Trey, just got done riding Rossignol's new S3 for 2013. I would give this ski more then 5 stars if I could, but were not allowed to. This ski just totally rocked for me. I don't know why I don't already own this ski cause every time I get on it it's so fun. You can do anything you want, you don't have to think about doing anything that you want, and that skis always there for you. So any condition, any type of skiing, this is the ski.

Comments about Rossignol S3 Skis:

Hi Thom here with the Rossignol S3. I'm going to give this 4 out of 5 stars. It's a real smooth and stable ski. Nice mellow flex pattern to it. I found it engaged the turn really really well. It's an effortless ski to ski, so you dont have to be too aggressive or too advanced. You can start out as an intermediate skier on it and really learn to explore the mountain or even be a advanced skier whos just looking for a stable to do everything type ski. I think it would excel under a skier that's either a little less aggressive or a little lighter weight. For you bigger guys it does get a little flappy at speed but it is a really solid all around ski.

Comments about Rossignol S3 Skis:

Hi i'm Steve, I just got off the Rossi S3. S3 has been in Rossi's line for quite a few years. I give this 4 out of 5 stars. It's a great ski for someone who want's kind of an all around ski. It's 98 under waist. Giving it plenty of width for out west conditions It skis fine in groomed and soft pack and hard pack conditions as well. It's a soft ski so if you like to ski really fast or really hard or you're heavier weight I wouldn't recommend it. you'll probably want to go up to the S7 for for me older guy starting to slow down a little bit. It's a great ski to turn easy at slower speeds but still aggressive enough to handle a little more speed and a little more oomph when you want to give it to them.

Comments about Rossignol S3 Skis:

Hi this is Luke, just finished skiing the Rossignol S3. I give this ski 5/5 stars, really enjoyed it. What I liked the most about it is it's a really lightweight ski. Gets on edge very easily, very stable, easy to initiate turns, just a really enjoyable ski. I'd say someone that's a intermediate through advanced level skier would definitely want to check this out.

Comments about Rossignol S3 Skis:

Hey what's going on, Kyle here with Rossignol S3. I definitely give this ski a 5/5. Definitely one of my favorite skis that I have been on yet. Does absolutely everything you want it to do, rolls over on edge, holds an edge really well. You can mob really fast, take it slow if you want, whatever you want on this ski. Great for anyone from intermediate to expert. Great all mountain ski, and it's got your twin tips. So if you want to ride switch you can, I love it 5/5.

Comments about Rossignol S3 Skis:

I'm Charlie I just got off the Rossignol S3. I give this ski 5/5 stars. For this price segment this ski really surprised me it holds it's edge really well, and it's got a lot of pop to it, really lively. It's something you can play in all day. Then if you wanted to jump off the backside and play into the trees a little bit, or if you wanted to hit the park and play in there a little bit. It's a really great ski something that you can do just about everything in, it's just a good ski 5 stars.

Comments about Rossignol S3 Skis:

Hey it's Brad. I just got off the Rossi S3. I'm giving this ski a 3.5 out 5 stars. I liked it it was pretty solid underfoot. Definitely was a little slow in the transition from turn to turn so if you're somebody who's looking for just a rock solid stable ski this would be a great ski for you. For somebody who wants something a little more aggressive something that gets up and goes a little bit a more. I think you will find this ski to be a little bit sluggish. Overall solid but didn't wow me by any means.

Is there any way to get the Rossignol S3 in a longer size = 188cm, 192cm or 195cm?

      A:

The longest size the Rossignol S3 comes in is the 186cm length. The S7 does come in a 188cm length model however.

  • Q:

How does the S3 compare with sking on the Rossignol Sickle? I demo skied the Sickle and liked it, but the S3 was not available. I have read the specifications, but would like to know what it means in terms of actual performance, i.e. stiffness, quick turns, float, chatter, etc. I am 6'-0" and 205 lb, expert.
Asked on 3/25/2013 by Blueholeblack from Richmond, Virginia

      A:

The Rossi S3's are going to be more oriented towards the all mountain skier who wants a ski that can also float in powder, as opposed to the Sickles which are almost strictly a powder ski. The S3's will be stiffer, giving them faster response and sharper carving ability, while providing you with less chatter overall. Keep in mind though that being narrower, they won't float in powder as well as the Sickles. If you plan on spending 50%+ of your time in powder, the Sickles would likely be a better route for you. Otherwise, the S3's will be the better option.
