By. Marcia Jeffries
We had a crazy unexpected drought of snow across The United States last year, which put a damper on a lot of skiing, snowboarding and all other outdoor snow activities. For us skiers – that was an extreme bummer.
Let’s start fresh and look forward to a snowy season to accommodate all the fun stuff we look forward to in the winter months.
2012 – 2013 Farmers Almanac Winter Weather Forecast states: The snowfall forecast calls for a snowy time across the Great Lakes. Due to the storm track entering the Southwest, skiing conditions should be better than normal in those areas.
Thinking snow- Lets prepare our kids to learn and enjoy the excitement of skiing. Introduce them to a sport that they will have fun with and they will fell great about themselves with their accomplishments. It’s good and normal that kids should be outdoors in the fresh air as their bodies are active with movement. Skiing is an amazing sport: the scenery is beautiful, you hook up with your friends, you achieve accomplishments, you can always challenge your self and you stay bundled in warmth with the coolest ski outerwear.
Starting something new can be difficult, especially if it's a sport you've never tried. At Boyne Highlands and Boyne Mountain, they provide ski lessons in Michigan that are taught by Snow Pros to lay down the basics and give you the confidence and training you need to hit the slopes by yourself.
