Combining the latest technology with Oakley's best comfort features, the Oakley Airwave Goggles are truly one of the best. These goggles boast the next great thing in skiing. A Built-In Heads-Up Display features GPS, accelerometer, barometer and gyro sensors. If you've ever wondered how fast you carved into the front side of a mountain, with the Airwaves, all you'll have to do shift your gaze to the display. You can track everything from speed, jump analytics, vertical, buddy tracking, music and much more. Smart Optics displays the information as if you're viewing a computer screen without getting in your way. For comfort you'll have a moisture-wicking triple-layer polar fleece foam so that as you're working up a sweat, your face will remain comfy. To help keep your lens fog-free is the Airwave's Dual Vented Lenses with F3 Anti-Fog Technology. The lenses themselves are Plutonite which filters out 100% of the UVA, UVB, UVC and harmful blue light so that your eyes will be in good shape for years to come. The Oakley Airwave Goggles take the latest and greatest technology and brings them to your eyes so you can experience the mountain in a whole new way.

A: Per Oakley "The Airwave Snow App supports both the original Airwave and the new Airwave 1.5. While the Airwave 1.5 brings additional features and an expanded user experience, updating is not necessary, but for many it will be desirable." It looks like it will be your choice to upgrade or not to, I would do some research of user reviews of the old vs the new system, sometimes newer isn't always better.
