Q&A with Max Hill:
Where and when did you ski for the first time?
My parents dragged me kicking and screaming when I was 2, I grew up across the road from Blue Mountain.
Your first pair of skis were ___?
Rossignol they were approximately 30cm.
Were you always into Freestyle Skiing?
No, I use to go directly straight down the hill only, haha.
How/When did you decide that skiing was a passion and that you were going to pursue that to the level you’re at now?
I graduated a year early at 16 and moved to Whistler on my own. The yellow brick road pretty much led me to where I am now.
When did you get your first sponsorship? Which Company?
I was 14, I hit a handrail and got a pretty cool snap shot. Been with Smith ever since.
Are there any riders that have influenced you?
TJ, David Crichton, Corey Vanular
What’s it like getting to ride with someone so influential to you?
It helps you remember where you started and everything it took to get you where you’re at, I guess I would call it accomplishing.
What’s the best skiing tip you’ve ever received?
Being under paid is better than being over rated.
Which video segment /photo shoot was your favorite to shoot?
Any day with Voleurz! Hard to tell the difference between a night shoot and an open bar, haha.
Your worst ski injury was ___?
Tearing my spleen in half or Breaking my back.
Which is your favorite “resort” to ski, and which one is top on the must ski list?
Whistler has helped me a lot over the years, but Bear Mtn. was a trip I finally got to ski this past season.
