The K2 Sk8 Hero X Boa kids inline skates offer great technology kids and parents will love. The K2 softboot is super comfortable for all day skating and offers an easy on/easy off system thanks to the Boa closure. The Boa closure makes it super easy and fast to tighten or loosen the skates meaning more skating time and less tie up time. The Boa system wraps through the K2 Sk8 Hero X Boa's Jr Boa cuff which pulls the cuff tight offering great support for safe skating. Offered on all sizes except the 11-2 is a hi-lo frame which features two larger wheels in the back and smaller wheels in the front. The design of the hi-lo frame accommodates quicker get up and go as well as more precise cornering which overall just gives the kids greater control over their skating. The K2 Sk8 Hero X Boa is a great skate from K2 and is sure to give your child a happy skating experience.

Bought these solely for the Boa system which I am familiar with from snowboarding boots. My young son was basically in tears all last year every time he put on his previous lace-up skates for inline hockey. These are what some might call "recreational" skates so some in hockey leagues may frown upon these as they are not the run-of-the-mill lace-up skate typically used in leagues. Oh well. They are actually much better though IMO, more comfortable, and adjustable to grow with my son another couple seasons. Don't know why they aren't making more league type skates incorporating more comfort and Boa system. Changed out the OEM wheels which were a bit hard (designed for street) to a softer wheel for the hockey rink and works great. One complaint I have is that for hockey, the brake needed to be removed and K2 did not include a shorter wheel bolt (same size as other wheels) which was needed once the brake was removed due to being wider than other wheels. I rigged it to work just fine by cutting to size and using some washers and know that the brake was likely not meant to be removed but would be nice as an option to include an extra shorter bolt that is same size as the others to use as an option if removing the brake. Other than that, no complaints! Great skate for my son and no more tears when slapping on all his gear prior to practices/games.
