 Overview

If you wanted to ski in space the Elan Olympus Mons ski is the one to take you there. This ski is named after the highest peak on Mars and the solid, easy arcs they make are perfect for any type of snow. The wide waist width and raised tip will give you gravity defying flotation . When the sun bakes the snow, do not fret as the titanium reinforcement on the Olympus Mons will break up the crud and will rail through icy patches. With early rise tip and traditional camber underfoot that floats, smoothes out variable conditions and carves. The sandwich construction layers dual titanium on both sides of the wood core to help you lay tracks from powder to ice. A channel wood core makes this a light ski but still stays snappy and playful just the way you like it. This ski is built with ABS sidewalls that give you direct power from your foot to the edge of the ski to give you better control at speed. The 110mm waist allows you to float like an astronaut in soft snow and you will stick landings better than ever. The Elan Olympus Mons has a thin aluminum profile that make them light but still keep you stable.

Comments:
Lightweight metal lam ski. No top end, yet turns and carves. and floats. Works well in trees. Great resort ski and oob. Great all around ski. I don't ski mogul fields. Tough bases.

Q: I WAS LOOKING FOR AN ALPINE TOURING SKI AND WAS WONDERING IF THIS SKI WOULD BE GOOD FOR THAT PURPOSE? THE SKI I'M VERY INTERESTED IN AT THE MOMENT IS THE SIDE SETH FROM K2.
Asked : Dec 22, 2013
By : SERGIO, YAKIMA, WA
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: While this ski can be used for Alpine Touring it is not the ideal ski for it. With two sheets of metal in the construction it is on the heavier side, which becomes cumbersome really quickly. It is a very stable and predictable Big Mountain/Powder ski, making it great in soft, choppy, or inconsistent snow , which is what you will encounter touring. However, if you are looking to spend a significant amount of time with your skins on a lighter weight ski is a better option.

Q: I'm a 5'7 , 195lb build. I'm a advance skier from New England. I was wondering if 176 was to long for my build . I ski mainly in Vermont .
Asked : Dec 21, 2013
By : zac, Burlington , VT
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: At your weight the 176cm length would be the correct length for you. While the 176cm may seem slightly long for your height it is weight that means the most when sizing a ski and at 195lbs you would not want to go any shorter than 174cm or so.
