The Elan Delight will bring a smile to your face if you are an intermediate to strong intermediate skier who will spend all of your time on the groomed trials, if you are looking for a light weight and forgiving ski. Elans WaveLight technology has small waves in the fore body of the ski that give you a soft flex, and stability in the turn. The shape of the waves thin out the construction of the ski, making it lighter so you wont get tired as easy, keeping you out on the slopes longer, so you will be having more fun. The Trulight wood core is womens specific with a slightly softer flex that will not require you to put tons of energy into your ski. The Early Rise Rocker Profile of the Delight has slight rocker in the tip of the ski to help you make turns quicker and easier, while camber underfoot will give you some spring into your next turn, and stability throughout it. If you are looking for a ski that will be very light, quick and nimble you will be delighted with the Elan Delight!
As a strong agressive skier that typically skis a 167, I was a little nervous taking this ski out in a 152. I was incredibly amazed at the stability, edge grip and smoothness of this ski. I pushed this ski as hard as I could on groomed, ungroomed, through crud and in bumps and never felt like it wasn't enough ski for me even at the shorter length. The edgehold was great, easily made long and short radius turns and the waveflex made it a dream in the bumps. It was so easy to ski - the turns were effortless and my legs never got tired.
