 Overview

The Brahma is back again this season as a ski for aggressive skiers looking to spend most of their time charging down the frontside of the mountain, or pounding through the bumps. The 88mm waist is wide enough to power through crud on the groomers, loves to make medium radius turns, and makes the Brahma highly maneuverable. The Double Titanium Layer, plus the addition of a Ti Binding Interface makes this ski burly stiff for the aggressive or heavier skier to have stability and power with every turn. The Brahma has a Rockered Tip that initiates turns quickly, and absorbs negative vibrations that are caused by bumps and crud. The Camber underfoot will deliver a powerful rebound, and edge grip. Rocker in the tail will improve the mobility and bump skiing prowess. The Brahma is made using Flip Core Technology that places the Poplar/Beech Wood Core in the press upside down that makes it very stable no matter how fast you ski, give the ski a natural flex, and give you a high level of performance. If you love going fast on the frontside, and want a ski that blows through crud, charges bumps, and loves high speed carves, the top selling Blizzard Brahma is the ski for you.

2016 Blizzard Brahma Ski Review by Thom
Comments:
Hi, I'm Thom. I just got off of the Blizzard Brahma. This is another 5 out of 5 star ski for me from Blizzard. Just a super, super versatile frontside ski. This is the definition of a solid on-trail ski to me. Tons of energy. Tons of edge-hold. The thing just absolutely rips a turn. It can be as demanding as you want it to be but you can ease up on it a little bit so anybody from a real strong intermediate up through a high-level expert skier that wants something truly frontside firm snow but is also going to have a little bit of versatility for bumps and soft snow the Blizzard Brahma is it. 5 out of 5.

2016 Blizzard Brahma Ski Review by Adam
Comments:
Hi, I'm Adam and I was just skiing on the Blizzard Brahma. I give this ski 5 out of 5. It's a fantastic ski for that advanced to expert skier who is looking for something that's going to be really stable for medium to short radius turns. 88 underfoot and 2.5 sheets of metal, this thing is stiff and strong but very responsive at speed and it skis great in the bumps. 5 out of 5.

2016 Blizzard Brahma Ski Review by Andy
Comments:
Hi, I'm Andy. This is the Blizzard Brahma. This is an advanced all-mountain ski. It really likes to go fast on the groomers and holds very good on edge. It actually does a very good short radius turn at slow speeds as well. I give this ski 5 stars.

2016 Blizzard Brahma Ski Review by Hans
Comments:
This Hans. I just came off the Blizzard Brahma. The Brahma is a 5 out of 5 ski all day long. Great all-mountain ski. You can give it from an advanced intermediate to expert skier. It will do everything right wherever you go. If you want to go rip the groomers or go in the back this is the ski of choice today.

2016 Blizzard Brahma Ski Review by Jeff S.
Comments:
Hey, this is Jeff. I just got off the Blizzard Brahma. I give this 5 out of 5 stars. Fantastic ski to tackle the whole mountain. It's wide enough to take it through transitional snow and even a little fresh snow but it's narrow enough to make really great short radius turns as well as long radius turns. It really does everything. It's fantastic edge hold and, again, the stronger you ski it, the harder you ski it, the more you're going to like it. I give this 5 out of 5 stars for an advanced skier. This is the Blizzard Brahma.

2016 Blizzard Brahma Ski Review by Josh H.
Comments:
Hi, my name is Josh. I just got off the Brahma by Blizzard. I give this ski 4.5 out of 5 stars. This would be a great ski for that intermediate skier who is trying to become advanced and that advanced skier trying to become an expert. It's a really solid stable ski. It's really smooth in its long turns. It makes nice medium radius turns as well. It's got a little bit of tip rocker so it would be pretty fun in soft snow, I believe, but on the hard pack and all the groomed stuff it skis very, very smoothly. Definitely a ski that wants to go fast and kind of be an aggressive skier with it. Like I said, great for that kind of advanced looking to be an expert type skier. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

2016 Blizzard Brahma Ski Review by Lucas
Comments:
Hey, I'm Lucas. I just got off the Brahma by Blizzard. A lot of fun. I give this ski 4.5 out of 5 stars. A lot of fun. On the long hard turns you can really lay into it and the ski will respond. A little stiffer but you definitely need to put your weight into it, this ski will respond. More for an advanced to expert skier. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

2016 Blizzard Brahma Ski Review by Ryan
Comments:
Hi, my name's Ryan, I just got off the Blizzard Brahma. I love this ski. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars. For an advanced skier or possibly former racer who is looking for a very GS style ski that they ski everywhere on the mountain, this is definitely it. It's a real high-energy carving ski. It's one of my favorites out there.

Q: I am 5' 11" 185lbs 24 years old in good shape. Skied aprox. 130days last year. Expert skier, level 8. I am interested in the Brahma. I have powder skis (Praxis Freeride 184cm) and skinny racing skis (fischer GS 170cm) but nothing between 70mm and 107mm waist. The question is 180cm vs 187cm. I love going fast and ripping around on the goomers but I want good mogul performance as well. Will the 187s be OK in the moguls? According to blizzards website I should be on 187, I just want to know if I should size down because I want good mogul performance. Option 2: I get the 187s and mount them 1.5cm forward of reccomended as described by John Elsworth over at Blister Gear Review. Thank you, Gabe

A: Based on your weight, ability, and aggressiveness the 187cm would be the correct size for you. The Brahma is one of the best bump skis out there. The flex pattern and rocker profile are just right for pounding some zipper lines. I personally am not a fan of fiddling with the mounting position. In my opinion those marks are place there by the engineers and ski designers to be in the correct spot for the turning radius, and rocker.

Q: I am 6ft - 160 LBS --- racing experiance, expert -- 59 years old -- still fit and active. Skiing 50% front, 35% off Pista, and 15% bumps. I do ski fast on front and want good carving edge and power. I had a pair of Atomic Nomad Blackeye Ti 181cm - was very disappointed, major chatter and heavy. What length would you recommend 180 or 187cm, concerned about my weight. I also like fresh snow and powder. These are for skiing out west.

Q: I am a 6ft, 170 lb male. I am an expert skier and ex-ski racer. I was wondering if this ski would be appropriate for someone who really skis aggressively at speed, but wants to go everywhere on the mountain. Also, what length is appropriate, 180 or 187? Thanks.

Know the answer? Answer this question

A: Based on your weight and ability you can do the 180cm, but with your aggressiveness and desire for versatility you can take it up to the 187cm if you are super aggressive, and want better flotation in the soft snow.

Q: how important is Ski Flex? At 250 lbs. and 40 years old... should I lean towards a Stiff or very Stiff Flex... East coast front side skier.
Asked : Apr 23, 2016
By : jason, WV
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: The ski flex is what provides the ski with rebound, edge hold, and stability. The bigger, stronger, or more aggressive of a skier you are the stiffer your skis should be. Based on your weight you should be considering a stiff or very stiff ski. If you are relatively new to skiing, or if you are not very aggressive a stiff ski would be suitable for you, if you have been skiing a long time, and are pretty aggressive a very stiff ski would give you the best performance. Purely based on your weight and where you ski the Brama 187cm would be a good option for you.

A: Based on your weight and ability the 187cm Brahma is the correct length for you. Most skis these days have a maximum length in the high 180s. Since skis have gotten wider, and the materials that they have manufactured with have improved, you no longer need a very long ski (over 190cm). Many skiers of your size and ability ride the 187cm Brahma, it is a perfect big guy ski.

Q: Hi guys, I am 156lbs (71kg) and 5.65 (172cm). Wondering if 173cm is the correct lenght for me? Mainly on groomers, advanced skier and bumps once in while. Skiing in Europe and Colorado. Demoed 166 in copper mountain CO and liked it but not sure if it was probably too short for the hard packed groomers in EU. Thanks

A: Based on your weight, ability, and the terrain that you ski the 173cm would be the best length for you in the Brahma for optimal stability, and maneuverability.

Q: Hello I'm 5'8" 180lbs, advanced all mountain skier who likes to do big turns on groomers but also be able to hop into the glades...what ski length would you recommend? I can't decide between the 173 and 180. Thanks for your help

A: Based on your weight and ability the 180cm would be the optimal size for you. Keep in mind that the tip of the Brahma has quite a bit of rocker that allows it to ski about 5cm shorter than it measures.

Q: I am 6'0" and about 215 lbs. I ski all mountain, mostly groomed and some bumps at an advanced intermediate or advanced level. I am trying to decide between the 180cm and 187cm ski. I am coming from a 170cm ski - the Vokl AC50. The sizing wizard recommends the 187cm ski, but it just seems really long. I want a ski that I can continue to improve with. Any thoughts?
Asked : Mar 14, 2016
By : Ethan, New York
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: You have the weight that the 187cm would be appropriate for you, but your ability suggests that you may go down a size if you wish. The 187 would offer you more stability, especially if you like longer, bigger sweeping turns on the groomers. If you want a little quicker, tighter turning radius you can step down to the 180. Both have advantages to you and your skiing. If you prefer speed and stability the 187 would be the way to go, if you prefer shorter, tighter turns the 180 would be the way to go. The AC-50 was right at the tail end of skiers getting really short, almost too short of skis.

A: You can choose between the 180 and the 173 size Brahma. Based on your weight you can be in the 180, based on your ability you can ski the 173. If you are a more aggressive skier looking for more stability you can jump up to the 180. If you are less aggressive looking for a tighter turn you can go with the 173cm. The Brahma has a pretty generous amount of tip rocker that does make it ski about 5cm shorter than it measures.
