Welcome to Ski Talk. I'm Thom from skis.com and today I'm joined by Ray from Dalbello Boots. How's it going, Ray? Great, Thom. How are you doing today. Pretty good.
What we have with us here is the Jakk from Dalbello. Great boot. Do you want to get us started? Tell us a little bit about this? Sure, Thom. We make a lot of freestyle boots as you guys know. We make the Il Moro for Tanner Hall and Nick Gepper and all of Plake's boots but, you know, we have to have a boot for every level skier and this is really for the tweener. This is for the kid that's coming out of the junior boots and working his way up to the big guy boots for that kid that doesn't weigh a lot. So, this is a freestyle boot built for that kid that, you know, rip up the park, the pipe, a little bit of all-mountain freeride skiing and that's where the Jakk came from. So, it uses the three-piece design that Dalbello's known for. With the lower hinge point, it has the tongue that works independently of the boot. It has the, and then the, lower, stiffer cuff to give you lateral performance and guts for the boot.
So, you're getting really a lot of technology in sort of that entry-level to adult equipment type boot for your lighter weight skier. Right, exactly. It also comes with a really nice liner. It has our fur liner to really, you know, really great grip, really great comfort level for the skier. A lot of people don't know but we put fur in the boots and fur first came about by Tanner Hall and what the fur gives you is extra shock absorption in the liner which is pretty cool for the park and pipe. And it's pretty comfortable. It is. We also have a flex adjuster on the boots so we can make it stiffer or softer depending on the weight of your kid so you know, if this guy is a lightweight little dude, make it softer or make it stiffer for a stronger kid. And then this is also based around your 103mm chassis which is just that nice kind of, not a full blown performance boot but a nice, comfort fit. Exactly. It gives you a lot of adjustability.
This also comes with our High Grip Sole also which is that new, rubbery walking sole so if you're hiking around, hiking the pipe or whatever else, you have a less chance of slipping. Fantastic. So, a little bit of added safety there. Exactly. So, if you're looking for just a nice boot to get you out of rental or junior equipment, really help you start pushing your freestyle on all-mountain skiing, definitely check out the Dalbello Jakk at skis.com. Thanks for joining us.
