By Chris Gorski
The Rossignol 7 series of skis has been a popular series for the last couple of years and this year Skis.com is stocked full with 3 different 7 models for women. You will find the Rossignol Savory 7, Saffron 7 and the Sassy 7 to ensure whatever model of the 7 series for women you are looking for you can get here. But what’s the difference in these 3 models and what can you expect from each one? Here we will cover a bit about each style of these skis and what each model is going to be best for.
Rossignol Savory 7 (135/106/126 @170cm)
The Savory 7 from Rossignol is here to be the shining beacon of light in women’s backcountry. The Savory 7 is built to be the end all does all of backcountry skiing built with great technologies including Rossi’s Airtip, powder turn rocker and more. The rocker will have you floating above the soft and fully powder in the backcountry and sidecountry which will add more fun and confidence to your skiing. Rossignol’s new Air Tip technology features the tips being filled with air to lighten the skis giving the skis a lighter swing weight and reducing overall weight 20% which makes them great for touring.
The Savory 7 women’s skis are going to be great for the hard charging skier looking to spend a great majority of their time off the groomers and in the powder. The shape, design and technology of the Savory 7 offers great performance and rewards hard ripping women with a ski that can keep up with them.
Rossignol Saffron 7 (128/98/118 @178cm)
The Saffron 7 is an all mountain beast but tamed just a tad from the Savory 7 so you can ski a bit of groomers when you happen across them. The Saffron 7 offers the powder turn rocker which gives this ski a great float on powder and loose stuff in the backcountry and the tamer waist width, 98mm, gives you more maneuverability on the groomers. The newly designed “spoon tip” in the Saffron allows for easy slash turns and butters that the modern freeride skiing has brought upon.
Although not a one trick pony, the Rossignol Saffron 7 is going to be more at home in the backcountry. Great for all mountain skiing, maneuvering sidecountry stashes and taking long ascents. The Saffron 7 is a great ski complete with the right technology to take your skiing to the next level.
Rossignol Sassy 7 (119/92/110 @170cm)
The Rossignol Sassy 7 is going to be a great one quiver ski for the skier looking to take the path travelled and the path less travelled. The Sassy 7 blends a perfect amount of versatility and float to ensure a fun time all over the mountain. With a 50/50 camber rocker combination this ski will float above the powder and loose stuff while still carving on hardpack and groomed runs. Considered a 60% powder and 40% all mountain the Sassy 7 will have your back in all conditions.
Buy this ski if you are looking for a one ski quiver to take with you in the backcountry, sidecountry and on the frontside of the mountain. Great control on the groomers and float in the powder will leave your friends in awe and most likely ordering their own set of Sassy 7 skis.
